Time for a luau! Let's get busy and make some awesome luau party invitations to set the theme for the party.
Making invitations is a lot easier than you might think and it's a lot of fun. You will need the following list of supplies.
Colored paper - Bright yellow, bright pink, red, turquoise blue, aquamarine blue, bright green and any color of your choice.
Scissors, glue, glitter, makers, colored pencils, Hawaiian themed stickers and a few stencils of your choice. Suggestions - large flip-flop shoe, sunglasses and martini glass (for adult luau invitation.)
A couple of lei's or Hawaiian type artificial flowers, a grass skirt or two.
Children's Lauau Party
Luau party invitations for a child's party will be a little different than that of any adult's party.
Grass Skirt Invitation:
Make a square basic invitation using the color paper of your choice and add your "decorations" to it when your done snip a piece of the grass skirt off and cover the invitation in it. When the guest opens the invitation, the grass should fall to the side they open it at.
It works best if you have the luau invitation open from the top and just flip back.
Lei Invitations:
Creating an invitation out of a lei is simple and quick. Make your basic invitation and instead of decorating the outside just glue a piece of the lei to the cover then sprinkle it with glitter for a little extra sparkle.
Adult Luau Invitations
For adult luau party invitations, you can use all the above party invitation ideas as well as a few others.
Using your martini stencil trace and cut out the martini glass on the color paper of your choice color the bottom half the color of a fruity drink add an umbrella (if you have real little umbrellas glue one on near the top.)
Luau Girl Invitation:
You can also create an invitation using a luau girl, which can double as a party favor. You can purchase luau girls in bulk very reasonable then attach a small piece of paper to her hand or use it as a shirt with the party information written on it.
