As the fourth day of the Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook divorce trial came to a close, a few, rather striking revelations ensued. The most notable of these, was a clear cut medical assessment made by the psychiatrist who testified in the trial: “Give her the Kids. Get them a shrink.”

“Mr. Cook is characterologically a narcissist,” as the psychiatrist revealed to the court. In layman’s terms, his statement could probably be reduced to, “Mr. Cook has an undoubtedly large ego.” The shrink, Dr. Stephen Herman, added that, “While most people need a feeding for their egos, Mr. Cook has an insatiable appetite.”

Of course, the latter statements paled in comparison to what were also exposed in stark details during the trial. Aside from spending over $3,000 a month on adult websites, Cook also has had 35 sexual partners in his lifetime (not that much from Don Juan’s standards, but that’s a substantial number for the average Joe). His latest conquest, and which was said to have been the main cause of the fall out with Brinkley, was an eighteen year old girl, Diana Bianchi. Dr. Herman, being the jargonic moralist that he is, commented that, “”that choice was the beginning of the end of the marriage.” It makes us wonder if Christie would have preferred if he just played with Mr. Johnston in front of a computer.

Dr. Herman also spent his time on the stand talking about the couple’s children, which were said to have been endangered by Cook’s inconspicuous fetishes. Cook admitted that their son Jack accidentally clicked over to pictures of a naked woman while using their computer at home.

While this incident could have spelled total doom for Cook, as he and Brinkley are battling for full custody of the children, Jack and Sailor (whom Brinkley sent to summer camp for the duration of the trial), Dr. Herman also shed some light on the not so good side of the former supermodel. “I think each person has their own strengths and weaknesses. Someone could raise a question about the mother’s marriages, and their not working out,” Dr. Herman said when asked for his opinion on which parent showed more “healthy attitudes.”

Prior to her marriage with Cook, Brinkley had already been married four times, which has obviously taken its toll on her children as well.

So as for the earlier statement made by Dr. Herman, it appears that choosing the lesser evil would entitle Brinkley to full custody. After all, anything would most likely be more agreeable than living with an egotistical sex fiend.
