Did you know you are less likely to be killed by a drunk driver in Utah than in any other state? According to a 2001 study published by MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, only 23 % of Utah traffic fatalities are alcohol related. That number is by far the lowest among the fifty states. Tied for second lowest are New York and Arkansas at 32%. The state with the highest percentage of traffic fatalities caused by alcohol is Rhode Island at 60%.
